The Ricky E. Wiggins Scholarship and Awards (R.E.W.S.A.) Foundation was created to honor the life, values, and legacy of Ricky E. Wiggins. A graduate of Hallandale High School (Class of 1978) and a full academic scholarship recipient at the University of Miami, Ricky believed deeply in the power of education to transform lives and communities.
As co-founder of the South Florida Educational Development Center, Inc., Ricky dedicated his life to expanding opportunities for young people and strengthening the educational landscape of South Florida. The R.E.W.S.A. Foundation carries this commitment forward by uplifting local students who demonstrate academic achievement, community engagement, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact in the world.

Beyond one-time financial awards, the Foundation remains invested in its scholars by monitoring and supporting their progress throughout their educational journey at universities and vocational institutions. Through this sustained relationship, the Foundation seeks to ensure that each recipient is not only funded, but also encouraged, supported, and believed in.
